From day one of this campaign, I have gone out of my way not to attack Scott DesJarlais on personal issues.
That is why I pledged to make this race about helping Tennessee families instead of attacking each other's families. If you missed my pledge, check it out here on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GrantforTN/videos/1731618740413490/
In fact, Scott DesJarlais and his campaign were against personal attacks in 2014, calling this type of campaigning "disgusting" and “gutter politics we'd expect from Nancy Pelosi and her allies in Washington.”
In 2016 however, Scott DesJarlais rejected to take my pledge to avoid personal attacks and “is in no mood to agree to the deal” as his campaign told the The Chattanooga Times Free Press.
Make no mistake, I will wage a vigorous battle of ideas, highlighting our differences in belief and what it means to be a Congressman. I will continue to talk about DesJarlais' vote for $700 billion in Obama’s food stamps, DesJarlais' repeated failure to define when life begins, DesJarlais' proposal to give amnesty cards to illegal immigrants, and DesJarlais' votes for cutting our military. Because all of those things affect you.
If you agree this campaign should be about what's best for Tennessee and the United States, not tearing down candidates personally, sign the pledge below and vote accordingly!
Sincerely,
Grant Starrett
